TRANSPORTATION

Jitney Schedule
The Jitney runs from Duffy’s Corner to the Short Hills Train Station, Monday through Friday.  The morning schedule is 5:55 a.m. to 8:55 a.m., approximately every 10 to 15 minutes, with return trips at 4:45 p.m. through 8 p.m.  For further information contact the Jitney Coordinator, Bill Cieri, at 973-477-6233.
 
Springfield Senior Citizen Daily Bus Schedule
All calls for the bus should be made each morning to the Sarah Bailey Civic Center. (973-912-2227) (Springfield only) Special trip notices (malls, shopping centers, etc.) will be posted at the Sarah Bailey Civic Center for the last Friday of the month.

1-800-772-2222 Rail Service is located nearby in Millburn, Short Hills and Summit Newark International Airport is only twenty minutes from the town.

Springfield Township Information

Springfield Mayor and Township Committee

Springfield Township operates under the Township Committee form of government. The Township Committee of Springfield meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. It consists of five committemen for three-year terms. Each year, on January 1, the committee meets to elect one of the members to be the mayor for a year term. The mayor is considered to be the head of the municipal government and is responsible as Chairman of the Township Committee with voice and vote.
